I was curious how the assassination attempt would change the festive, almost tailgate atmosphere around Trump’s rallies, but so far from what I’ve seen it’s virtually the same.
One very distinct thing, though, is how the now infamous Fight photo has been co-opted into branding everywhere. This isn’t totally surprising, especially seeing as how the conviction was embraced with merch and rallying cries almost immediately.
But what does strike me is the two battling tones of how to advertise the assassination attempt. On the one hand, there are TONS of shirts that just show the photo with a resilient message:
But on the other hand there is a whole slew of defiant almost antagonizing messages:
